Welcome!
Here's
how to start using your new account at FlexEhost.

|
Account
Information
When
you sign up with FlexEhost, we'll send you an email
message with your account information. You'll need this
information to set up your website. Your account
information includes:
- The
names of your primary and secondary Domain Name
Servers (DNS)
- The
IP address for your website.
If
it does not, or you misplace the information, send a
message to billing@flexehost.com and ask for your account
information to be resent to you. If you're not sure what
this information means, don't worry.
It's explained below.

Assigning
Domain name servers
Name
Servers FlexEhost provides domain name service with all
accounts.
Here's how to assign our domain name servers to your
domain name:
- Go
to your Domain Name Registrar website and locate the
place where you specify domain name servers.
- Enter
the Domain Name servers given to you in your account
information email sent to you upon registration.
- If
you did not register your domain name yourself give
the name servers to the person/place your registered
it for you and ask them the change your DNS name
server so the ones we give you in in your registration
email.
*It
can take up to 48 hours for this assignment to propagate
throughout the Internet. During this time, you can access your website with this
address: http://flexehost.com/~/yourusername
FlexEhost uses cloaked forwarding by default. You do not
have to set this separately.

Using
the Control Panel
The key to using your FlexEhost account is
our Control Panel
You can access the Control Panel in 3 ways:
- ELogin
form the FlexEhost.com home page or other pages you
see the Members login form at.
- Enter
this address in your web browser: http://www.yourdomainname/cpanel
- This method will work while your domain name servers
are in the propagation stage and is being progressed.
Enter
this address in your web browser: http://yourIPaddress/cpanel
You
will be prompted for your user name and your password.

The
directory structure of your site.
Your
account gives you access to a unique allocation of space
on our web servers. We provided a basic directory set up
for each account.
You can add new directories, as needed.
Your root (also called "home")
directory contains these sub-directories (also called
folders):
- /mail
- /public_ftp
- /public_html
- /tmp
- /www

Setting
Up Your FTP Login Information
Open
up your ftp program
Set the Host/Address to 66.225.216.211
Set the Username to the one given to you in your
registration email we sent you.
Set your password to the one given to you in your
registration email we set you.
Tick the Save Pwd check box if you want your password to be
save for your next ftp session.

Uploading
your files
- Place
the index page and related pages in this directory: /public_html
. You can make as many subdirectories as you wish.
- Place
files you want publicly accessible for ftp in this
directory: /public_ftp
- Upload
all text files, including HTML pages, Perl and
CGI scripts, in ASCII mode.
- Upload
graphic and sound files in Binary mode.
- For
detailed instructions and information about more
advance functions, refer to the User Manual lacerated
with in your Cpanel.
